How Small Gatherings Propelling the Superyacht Industry Forward
Conferences are traditional bedrocks of industry knowledge sharing and innovation. Yet, within the superyacht industry, a new trend is emerging that shows size isn’t everything. The star of this sea-change is the aptly named Mediterranean Superyacht Forum (MSF), known earlier as the Balearics Superyacht Forum.
Running its third edition this year, MSF saw an impressive turnout of key industry participants. It’s not just the quantity but also the quality of the participation that caught the eye. Moreover, these forums act as a focused platform to reflect on various aspects of the superyacht industry.
MSF smartly takes place ahead of the Palma Boat Show adopting similar timing as The Superyacht Forum before METSTRADE. This strategic timing, coupled with affordable accommodation and excellent communication, appeals to a wide cohort of attendees.
One might think size does matter when it comes to conferences. But in reality, smaller, more targeted conferences have proven to be very effective. They allow for richer, deeper discussions, with attendees often having intricate knowledge of the specific local realities of the industry.
A case point being an intimate conference held regarding marinas in Alghero, Sardinia. With just 50 participants and 10 speakers, it enabled a more focused and deeper discussion on local challenges and potential solutions.
The heart of a valuable conference lies in its flexibility, room for questions and discussions, and emphasis on quality engagement. It’s not the number of participants, but the depth of conversations that make a gathering worthwhile, sparking new ideas and future innovations in the superyacht industry.
