SF Group Propels Panama into the Spotlight with Landmark Superyacht Marina Project

Published: 29 Mar 2026
Swedish dock firm, SF Group, lays out ambitious plans to transform Panama into a thriving hub for superyacht cruising with the Port Amador marina project.

Steering the future of superyacht cruising is the SF Group, a prominent player from Sweden known for their marina specialties. Their latest ambition is to bring about a landmark transformation in Central American waters with their Port Amador marina project unveiled in Panama. Not only does this announcement mark a sizeable enlargement into this market, but it places the project at the Pacific entrance to the vital Panama Canal. Set to revolutionise the Amador Causeway, this initiative commands attention as a burgeoning hub for Eastern Pacific superyacht ventures.

Panama is tactically placed just minutes away from Panama City, with two international airports offering private aviation access within convenient range. Port Amador will furnish yachts with direct connectivity to both the Pacific and Atlantic via the Canal - a boon to seamless voyaging between oceans from a single home port.

The blueprint of this project has been drawn out to satiate the rising demand for extensive yacht infrastructure in the region. The marina infrastructure will also accommodate high-capacity fueling, shore power, comprehensive maintenance services and on-site customs and immigration clearance. All these elements fall in line with international superyacht standards. Security measures will not be compromised either, with ISPS compliance, controlled access and round-the-clock surveillance in place.

From boutique hotels, waterfront domiciles, retail hubs, to waterfront dining, Port Amador plans to cater to the preferences of the most discerning visitors. The first Pacific outpost of the elite Beaufort Yacht Club will also grace its precincts. With convenient access to awe-inspiring locations like the Galápagos Islands, the Pacific coast of Central America and longer expedition corridors to Alaska and Patagonia, Panama is poised as the doorway to fresh and remote cruising territories.

There are no full construction timelines available at this juncture. SF Group is staying the course with their global expansion trajectory, and with this project, they are drawing the world’s attention to Panama’s emerging role in the future of superyacht cruising.
