Sunseeker International marks pivotal 40-metre superyacht construction milestone following monumental corporate changes
Exuding luxury and promising performance, Sunseeker International is sailing into an exciting new chapter of its illustrious history. The renowned yacht builder is marking a triumph with the start of laminating for the first hull of the 134 Superyacht at its dedicated facility in Osprey Quay, Dorset. This achievement heralds Sunseeker’s re-entry into the 40-metre superyacht market, a strategic move underpinned by significant corporate changes.
Providing guidance at the board level, Antony Sheriff will chair as Non-Executive Chairman. He brings a wealth of experience from his former roles as the Executive Chairman of national competitor Princess Yachts and the CEO of McLaren Automotive.
The KCP Holdings-led consortium is keen on bolstering investment across multiple facets of Sunseeker’s brand—operations, products, customer experience, and most importantly, its personnel. The ultimate vision is to position Sunseeker as the world’s best yacht producer—an ambition that the production of the 134 Superyacht aptly mirrors.
Decidedly ending its 40-metre market break, Sunseeker marks a significant milestone with Hull No. 1 of the 134 Superyacht series. The 27,000 sq ft facilities at Osprey Quay have recently undergone a refurbishment to augment infrastructure, capability, and workflow. It strategically matches the market’s scale and echoes owners’ growing interest in the segment.
Hull No. 1 of the 134 Superyacht is set to begin testing in April 2027, eventually making its way to its owner on the West Coast of the US. As Hull No. 1 is demoulded, work on Hull No. 2 will commence, signifying Sunseeker’s consistent and bold strides toward its ambitious vision.
