RS Sailing Announces 2026 RS Games in Germany: A Festive Celebration of Sailing Innovation and Unity

Published: 31 Jul 2025
In an unprecedented move, RS Sailing has declared Travemünde, Germany, as the host city for the 2026 edition of the RS Games.

Every four years, there’s a gathering of sailing enthusiasts that truly brings the global sailing community together. It’s the RS Games, an event that resonates with the spirit, innovation, and unity relating to RS Sailing, a renowned dinghy manufacturer that designs boats which range from Olympic-trial winning RS Aero to the fastest growing double-handed youth class - the RS Feva.

The big news is that for the first time in its history, the RS Games will be held outside the UK. The chosen locale? Travemünde, Germany, from 16th-26th July 2026. This switch of venue comes with an added appeal as the event dovetails into Travemünde Woche - Northern Europe’s largest and most iconic sailing festivals.

Across 12 categories, the RS Games adds an original blend to the party with its full-fledged racing schedule and enticing shoreside entertainment. The games will host competitors from the entire RS Sailing racing continuum.

Youth sailors have the option of participating in the RS Tera and RS Feva World Championships. Keelboat competitions will also be incredibly intense with the RS21 fleet vying for the Euro Cup.

Beyond the thrilling races, the event ensures a socially engaging experience. Unique opening ceremonies, celebrations, prize distribution, and exclusive parties are all part of the agenda.

Jon Partridge, Managing Director at RS Sailing, expressed their excitement for this grand spectacle, emphasising the community spirit, the sheer thrill of sailing, and their unwavering commitment to celebrate the classes. With its top-notch sailing conditions, beachside launching, ideal camping spots and seamless accessibility, Travemünde is all set to take the RS Games to a new pinnacle of success in 2026.
