Dutch Shipbuilder Royal Huisman Introduces New Trident 810 Sailing Series

Published: 09 Oct 2025
Royal Huisman, the Dutch sailing yacht specialist, unveils Trident 810, an 81 metre sailing yacht series, merging performance with build efficiency.

In the world of elegant sailing vessels, Royal Huisman stands as a crown jewel. Known for their meticulously crafted yachts, the Dutch shipbuilder makes waves again by revealing their latest maritime masterpiece - the Trident 810.

Developed from the architectural principles of its existing flybridge schooner platform, the Trident 810 is an 81-metre sailing yacht series. Royal Huisman has partnered with Dykstra Naval Architects and Mark Whiteley Design to bring this innovative concept to life. The aim is to blend the performance of Royal Huisman’s large sailing yachts with the building efficiency provided by a semi-custom platform. The Trident 810 is a significant milestone in Royal Huisman’s tireless quest for the perfect custom XXL true-sailing superyacht.

The Trident 810’s design capitalises on the extensive heritage and expertise of Royal Huisman. Its value lies in its ability to provide a considerably shorter lead time – around three years – while still offering a full range of customisation options in both layout and styling.

By exploiting the existing engineering foundation, the design provides owners with a dependable, tested technical platform. It doesn’t constrain them in any way, instead, it gives them the freedom to modify the yacht’s exterior profile and interior layout to match their individual preferences. This marks a continuation of Royal Huisman’s focus on large-scale sailing R&D, seen earlier in the 50-metre AERA concept presented at the Monaco Yacht Show this year. Both designs center automation, simplified handling, and reduced energy consumption as fundamental elements of Royal Huisman’s next-generation sailing programme.
