Shaping the Future of the Refit Sector: The Endeavor of Refit Advisory Group and its First Virtual Meeting

Published: 02 Feb 2026
The burgeoning refit industry is set to transform with the Refit Advisory Group’s forthcoming first ever virtual meeting aimed at improving existing infrastructures and processes.

The unanticipated boom in the refit sector has brought forth many pressing matters upon the yachting world. The constant delivery schedule of new yachts year after year has had a massive impact on the future of sectors such as refit and repair. These circumstances raise critical questions about the capacity and infrastructure, workforce and skills, supply chains, project management strategies and customer satisfaction.

A few years back, Norina Edelman along with the team at International Marine Management, launched the Refit Advisory Group as a not-for-profit initiative. It embodies a community that convenes captains, managers, engineers, and representatives of yacht owners in the interest of enhancing customer experiences. The last round of concrete plans, actions and strategy emerged from the RAG’s meeting during the Monaco Yacht Show S.A.M. week. Its goal is to develop these initiatives into a global community dedicated to shaping and improving the refit sector.

On 26th February, at 15:00 CET to be convenient for all key time zones, the first virtual meeting of the RAG will be hosted for all core members – captains, managers, owner’s reps, engineers, as well as private client advisors and family offices. During this meeting, the group will share its mission, actions and objectives and will deliberate on the future focus areas and other initiatives vital for the refit sector.

This is indeed a defining moment for all stakeholders, an opportunity to influence the future of the yachting world. The open dialogue and smart ideas fostered by these developments will serve to create a more rewarding and fulfilling yacht ownership experience, shaping the ever-evolving refit, repair and rebuild sector.
