JFA Yachts Marks Important Progress on Groundbreaking 51m Hybrid Aluminium Explorer Yacht

The French yacht builder, JFA Yachts, has achieved a notable milestone in the construction of their advanced 50.5-meter hybrid explorer yacht. Currently in the outfitting stage, the launch of this innovative vessel is eagerly anticipated for later this year. The exterior styling and naval architecture, conceived by Humphreys Yacht Design, lends the yacht a distinct presence on the high seas, while ensuring it packs powerful performance paired with eco-friendly operation.

The aluminium explorer yacht, a brainchild of CEO Frédéric Jaouen, is being lauded for its substantial capacity for tenders and water toys. Installed with three high capacity cranes and an intelligent service area and guest social space configuration, this yacht aims to revolutionise luxury exploratory sailing. A davit, concealed foredeck crane and deck crane are to be installed for a 9.25-meter tender, rescue boats, jet skis, substantiating the explorer’s effort to be a supreme adventure vessel.

The interiors, coming from Milanese studio m2atelier, are pitch-perfect for a yacht of this stature. The main deck houses the galley, dining area, and an inviting outdoor lounge replete with an integrated barbeque. Meanwhile, the owner’s suite, comprising a personal lounge, office area, and outside lounge with a Jacuzzi, takes pride of place on the upper deck. Additional guest cabins are furnished below deck. An expansive array of solar panels and a high-capacity battery system outfits the yacht, enabling ‘silent, emission-free operation’ when anchored, in the harbour, or when cruising at low speeds. This facilitates an incredibly eco-friendly sailing experience.

With a top speed of 20 knots achievable in hybrid boost mode and a range of over 5,000 nautical miles at 12 knots, this yacht indeed embodies a revolutionary step for the future of yachting. Partnering with the clients’ team from A2B Marine Projects, JFA’s project team with Michel Siou at the helm, has ensured meticulous planning and expert execution of all aspects of this project. Signalling a milestone for JFA Yachts, this explorer is set to redefine luxury yachting with its blend of performance-, environment-, and leisure-oriented features.
