Torrential rain couldn’t dampen the spirits at the third annual TEDx Forte Dei Marmi held at the renowned Augustus Beach Club in Versilia, Italy. The event, which attracts a melange of minds from yachting, science and culture, masterfully merged networking and brainstorming, infusing the air with an ambience of intellectual curiosity and camaraderie. The gala dinner, held the night before, marked the birth of SuperyachtCoast.com, a nexus for prominent figures in the region’s luxury circles.

Featuring esteemed speakers, the TEDx talks, held at sunset the following day, revolved around ‘Designing Timeless Beauty’, honouring Italian flair, and augmenting a dialogue on creating enduring magnificence.

The evening commenced with renowned sports doctor Riccardo Ceccarelli, the creative mind behind Formula Medicine and the Mental Economy method. He imparted wisdom on enhancing focus and optimising brain function under stress - a topic of immense relevance, considering the high stakes in the realm of luxury.

Arturo Artom, hailed as Italy’s ‘father’ of telecom liberalisation, underlined the need for networking to meet digitalisation and AI head-on. He suggested harnessing the power of connections between people, ideas and disciplines. Monaco-based professor Annalisa Tarquini underscored the responsibility of the luxury industry to nurture a new cohort of craftsmen. She called for reversing the rising trend of prioritising influencer dreams over traditional crafts, to safeguard Italy’s ‘Made in Italy’ heritage.
