Seldén Mast Revels in Triple DAME Nominations and Unveils Novel StB Rigging Screws at Metstrade 2025
Never one to be outdone in the twists and turns of marine engineering, Seldén Mast sails full-speed ahead into Metstrade 2025 with a new range of products – most notably, the revolutionary StB Rigging Screws. This launch marks a gigantic wave in Seldén’s hardware portfolio, offering an efficient, modern alternative to conventional turnbuckles. This fresh approach boosts the options for rigging upgrades and new builds, making every sailor’s life easier – and arguably, more thrilling.
The versatile StB Rigging Screws, crafted from AISI 316 stainless steel and bronze, are designed for wire diameters ranging from 3-19mm. These screws, with their reduced friction, ensure smooth adjustments and reliable fittings. Along with a secure wrench grip and measurement slot, the system boasts polished, rounded locknuts, offering a neat finish and minimizing chafe.
Brimming with pride at this achievement, Steve Norbury, Managing Director of Seldén Mast, expresses, ‘They’re a robust, well-engineered evolution of a core piece of deck hardware, and they sit perfectly alongside the other new products we’re introducing this year.’
But the winds of success don’t stop there. Seldén Mast has also triumphed in securing three DAME Awards nominations, recognizing their functional engineering focused on multiple aspects of sail handling. These nominations include the Nail Terminal, the dual-direction Ratchet for Seldén’s CXr Code Furler, and the Clew Block for furling mainsails.
Building on their DAME success, Seldén Mast will grace Metstrade 2025 with the world premiere of the CXr series. Developed to provide robust furling torque, seamless integration, and improved handling, the CXr series redefines furling equipment and is expected to start deliveries in spring 2026.
Striding into the future, Seldén Mast remains persistent in innovation and its dedication to enhancing the exhilarating journey of sailing.
