Step Aboard the Swan 80: Nautor Swan's Newest Maxi Yacht Approaching Official Launch

The Finnish shipyard Nautor Swan, a beacon of luxury yachts for decades, is nearing the completion of its first-ever Swan 80, a yacht unit that promises to redefine luxury sailing. This summer is pencilled for the delivery following a scheduled launch in May.

The Swan 80, with its hull numbered 80.301, was announced in April 2024. Not long after the company’s new model was unveiled at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2023. The new arrival is an evolution of the Swan 78, an addition to their range of Maxi sailing yachts that ensures the same lineage of superior design and cutting-edge architecture.

Despite maintaining a hull length just under 24 metres, the Swan 80 cleverly maximises the advantages of its size and design, making it exempt from EC regulations and limitations. Starting from the mast, a minimalist and level wooden deck runs to the aft, leading seamlessly into a low-profile coach roof. The cockpit area is flat, enabling endless seating and storage configurations and an open aft deck perfect for swimming and sunbathing when cruising.

Owners can opt for different keel settings, choosing between a fixed deep, fixed shallow, and a deep telescopic lifting keel. The Swan 80’s rudders are packed with sacrificial tips for directional stability and encased with sealed compartments to reduce the impact of a collision with a submerged item. Additionally, hull entrance and powerful aft section are tapered for stability.

The yacht continues Nautor’s commitment to luxury and comfort indoors. It can accommodate up to 10 guests, with flexible layouts. Alternatives include converting a guest cabin for crew usage or a reading nook or dining area.

As part of the internationally expanded operations of Nautor Swan, following their 2024 acquisition by Sanlorenzo Group, the Swan 80 is set for debut at the upcoming Cannes Yachting Festival in 2026. This unveiling will add another milestone to the brand’s journey and secure a prominent place in their lineup of acclaimed Maxi yachts - a lineage that includes Swan 88, Swan 98, Swan 108, and Swan 128.
