Turkish Shipyard AKYACHT Starts Construction on its Largest Superyacht Ever to Be Built on Turkish Soil

Published: 22 Dec 2025
AKYACHT, a renowned Turkish shipyard, has commenced construction on a sprawling 125 to 130-metre superyacht, a first of its kind for the country.

AKYACHT, a leading Turkish shipyard has launched work on NB012, an innovative superyacht reaching from 125 to 130 metres. This project reflects a notable moment in the shipyard’s history, as it signifies not only the most ambitious endeavour AKYACHT has undertaken but also the largest superyacht ever to be cultivated on Turkish soil. The highly anticipated delivery is set for 2030. This magnificently mammoth superyacht’s beauty is matched only by the grandeur of its design team. Experienced designer Espen Øino is guiding the exterior design, whilst the interior design is championed by Sinot Yacht Architecture and Design and the naval architecture by Azure Yacht Design and Naval Architecture. Dölker + Voges, a Hamburg-based studio is responsible for the interior design of the crew areas. The NB012 project, first introduced in 2023, is being constructed from steel and aluminium. It promises to intermingle ‘uncompromised luxury, technology, engineering and propulsion’ as per the shipyard’s assurance. The new superyacht’s gross tonnage is expected to weigh in the region of 8,000 to 10,000GT. NB012 is being assembled at AKYACHT’s recently standing locations in the Kocaeli Free Trade Zone. This upgraded workspace offers a footprint of over 100,000 square meters, suggesting AKYACHT as one of Turkey’s most ambitious yacht constructors. Once completed, NB012 will pedestal past the current flagship, the 85-metre Victorious and will fully eclipse the existing largest Turkish superyacht, the 88-metre sailing yacht, Maltese Falcon.
