Excelled Performances in Port Phillip Women's Championship Series 2025-26: Revealed Drama and Achievements of Day 4

Published: 26 Apr 2026
Unravel the thrilling experiences of the fourth race day of the Port Phillip Women's Championship Series 2025-26, held at the Royal Melbourne Yacht Squadron.

With a historic background and a renewed vigour, the Port Phillip Women’s Championship Series (PPWCS) 2025-26 Dance Day 4, hosted by the Royal Melbourne Yacht Squadron on the 19th of April 2026, offered a compelling spectacle of seafaring skills and strategy. The day was dedicated to the annual signature female helm Jennifer Goldsmith Trophy event. Beneath Melbourne’s temperate autumnal weather, a thrilling race unfurled across a two-lap, 6-nautical-mile triangular course.

The festivities continued back at the freshly refurbished clubhouse, with a hospitable full house luncheon and presentation generously supported, as every year, by the Goldsmith family in memory of their daughter Jennifer Goldsmith who passed too early from melanoma. In a touching tribute, RMYS Commodore Cherry Birch even sported a limited-edition commemorative t-shirt, highlighting Jennifer’s substantial contribution to the club during her lifetime.

Fittingly, Jennifer’s longtime friend and RMYS member Sabina Rosser led the helm of Flying Tiger 10 Tigris to win the Jennifer Goldsmith Trophy. Their victory was complemented by line honours winner Serious Yahoo’s submariner placement in both (PHS and AMS), reinforcing their series lead.

The fifth and final PPWCS race day—with RBYC’s signature female helm event, the annual BLiSS (Brighton Lady Skipper Series) Regatta—provides another exciting opportunity for all female sailors. Notably, SYC member Robyn Ragauskus leads ORC, and a significant challenge from HBYC’s Sue Burke on Lanncoorie is expected. With less than a month until the 34th Australian Women’s Keelboat Regatta (AWKR), the BLiSS Regatta offers an excellent warmup chance for teams to embed unity and tactics ahead of the King’s Birthday weekend. The regatta also caters to all female helms, with racing divisions customised based on competing levels.
