Revolutionising the Superyacht Scene: Aeri Studio Unveils 42-Metre 'Glide' Yacht Concept with a Freshly Bold Approach
A new ripple is forming on the surface of the superyacht scene with the unveiling of ‘Glide’, a 42-metre motor yacht concept generated from the youthful Parisian brains behind Aeri Studio. Led by studio founder Julien Cadro, this innovative design aims to shake the foundations of conventional yacht planning, promising a taste of ‘radical openness and a deeply human approach’ to life on board.
Constructed to bypass the customary ‘compartmentalisation’ that often characterises yachts of this calibre, Glide seems to paint a picture of life at sea in broad, fluid strokes—rooms no longer feel ‘predictable’. The 42-metre (with a volume of sub-500GT) blueprint has been shaped around the core concept of elasticity and continuousness.
A statement from the studio says, ‘The result is a space that shifts effortlessly depending on the moment: intimate over a candlelit dinner, expansive during a lazy afternoon at sea, animated when guests gather in the evening.’
Whilst heading outdoors, the yacht’s unique quality is found aft, boasting a full-beam pool, the ‘centrepiece’ of an external wellness area. A sunbed is eased within a shallow pool, aligning the horizon views at eye level, thus extending the confluence of luxury and natural beauty.
Glide’s full-beam master suite capitalises on generosity and fluidity on board. Cadro divulged that this design favours ‘space and comfort throughout’, from the open-plan wardrobe to the vast en suite. The proactive method of not ‘maximising cabins at the expense of quality’ imparts an air of extravagance and lavish sensibility.
Accommodation for guests is spread across four cabins, with four additional ones dedicated for the crew. ‘This 42-metre concept signifies the studio’s ambition to contribute something distinct to a market where originality is increasingly rare,’ says Cadro, pointing at a clean-lined silhouette that is ‘modern without chasing novelty.’ A toast, then, to this revolutionising take on yacht life, brought to life by the creative minds at Aeri Studio.
