Witness the Rally of Champions in the Thrilling UK B14 Sailing Season 2025: An Exciting Preview
Fanned by the lingering warmth of the Sydney Worlds, the ensuing rush from the UK B14 2025 season feels like a prelude to something magnificent. This year, the UK is host to a splendid array of TT events, unfurling in new, thrilling venues. Spaces such as Carsington and the Nationals at Mumbles hold great promise and are carefully coordinated by our dedicated event overseer Claire.
Notably in 2026, Torbay Yacht Club will be brimming with the exhilaration of the World Championships. This marks the first time since 2007 that the World Championships have decided to pitch the UK as their chosen battleground, causing a surge of buoyant excitement among sailing enthusiasts. Initial responses from the Aussie fleet suggests that a dozen boats are itching to make waves in the event.
The B14 World Championships’ reigning champions, Chris and Lucy, have personally refurbished boat number 731. Boats 771, an epoxy Ovington model, 796 and 798 being the freshest Seavolution boats, join the refurbished vessel on the display list. Encouragingly, the epoxy Ovington boat’s sibling, 774, just celebrated a World Championship win.
This year’s Dinghy Show is certainly a treat with the B14 class docked on stand 230. Visitors can either gush over the immaculate year-old boat, 799, or the ‘Rocket Ship’, sail number 789. Highlighting the pinnacle of meticulous care, 799 is pimped to the absolute limit and can provide a glimpse of what the latest boat models are capable. The Rocket Ship, on the other hand, is a fine exemplar of a regularly sailed race boat.
